I thought I would pop in again and share my simple, easy Halloween tablescape for those who have yet to set their tables. I kept my table décor simple and basic this year, choosing to build some simple layers of items I already had on hand.
Let’s take a look….
I began by layering two tableclothes for added interest and pattern. The checked tablecloth was folded to use as a runner and kept the table from having an all-over “too busy” feeling.
I set the table with a basic, oversized white dinner plate on top of a blackberry shaded charger. Then, topped the setting with these cute polka-dotted plates from Hobby Lobby. A simple jack-o-lantern party favor rounded out the setting.
The centerpiece began with a wooden lantern form to which I added a candle on a timer, then filled in with silk black roses and black twigs to lend an eerie theme. The wooden crows, also an old purchase from Hobby Lobby, stand guard around the Halloween “flame” to ward off any evil. I then finished off with a couple strands of wooden bead garland I had (I think came from Hobby Lobby), old glass jack-o-lanterns I picked up through the years at various places and a simple black garland with cute jack-o-lantern faces.
And here is a quick look at my sideboard..
I carried over the simple “Halloween kitsch” theme and used items I already had on hand, just grouped together for an eclectic display: bobbleheads, framed treasured Halloween poems and prints, silly garlands and light strings, glass jack-o-lanterns with votive candles and more polka-dotted serving plates rounded out the display.
I hope this simple and easy décor inspires you to create something fun & whimsical to enjoy this Season. Whether you have a house full of loved ones, or enjoy a season of solitude, take time to add a little creativity to your table by using what you have to share some fun in your days!
Happy Halloween!
