It’s a gloomy, wet day here in the South…perfect day for this Yummy Treat!
CrockPot Monkey Bread
Ingredients
- 8 count tube of biscuit dough…do not use a "buttery" type
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/2 – 2 t. ground cinnamon, depending on your tastes
- 4 T. butter
- chopped pecans, optional
Instructions

Spray the CrockPot with cooking spray.

Melt butter in a microwave safe bowl and set aside.

Combine white sugar and brown sugar in a large Ziplock-type bag. Close bag and shake to combine the sugars. Sprinkle in the cinnamon and shake again to combine well.

Separate biscuits and cut each biscuit into 4 pieces.

Dip biscuit pieces into melted butter, then drop into bag containing the sugar mixture. After all biscuit pieces have been added to the bag, close bag and shake to coat pieces with the sugar mixture.

Pour leftover melted butter into bottom of CrockPot; then pour biscuit pieces into CrockPot. Spread pieces out evenly along bottom of CrockPot.

Sprinkle chopped pecans over top, or you may wait and sprinkle on top at serving time.

Place lid on CrockPot and set to LOW heat setting. Cook for 2 – 2 1/2 hours. Check for doneness at the 2 hour mark to avoid overcooking.

This is yummy served on it's own…or add a simple powdered sugar glaze or small scoop of ice cream.
