It’s Day 5 of CrockTober 2020 and here is another SIMPLE Crockpot Pasta recipe for you to try….our version of the popular Olive Garden Chicken Pasta dish!
OG Italian Chicken
Ingredients
- 3 large boneless chicken breasts, skin removed
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 16 oz bottle Olive Garden Italian dressing
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan & Romano cheese, divided
- 1-2 t. freshly ground black pepper
- 8 oz pkg cream cheese
- 1/2 cup roasted red pepper, sliced
- 16 oz Penne pasta
- fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions

Rinse chicken breasts and remove any skin. Place in Crockpot with 1/2 cup warm water.

Pour bottle of OG Italian Dressing over top (may substitute your favorite Italian dressing).

Sprinkle half of the grated cheese over top of chicken; then place the block of cream cheese on top.

Sprinkle freshly ground black pepper and roasted red pepper slices over top of cream cheese and chicken.

Place lid on Crockpot and cook on LOW for 5-6 hours or on HIGH for 4 hours, until chicken is cooked.

During last 30 minutes or so of cooking time, prepare the Penne pasta on stove top according to package directions. Drain well.

Remove lid from Crockpot and shred the chicken with two forks right in the pot. Stir well and then add in the cooked pasta. Replace lid and let pasta and chicken cook for 10 minutes. (If mixture appears too dry, stir in another 1/2 cup or so of warm/hot water). Stir again and then sprinkle remaining grated cheese over top and garnish with fresh parsley.
