UPDATE: Today’s CrockTober recipe is a throwback to my first round of CrockTober in 2020. This Sloppy Joes recipe was a huge hit as it is sooo good and sooo easy to make. Give it a try and you will never use a can mix again!

Crockpot Sloppy Joes
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. lean ground beef
- 1 t. garlic powder
- 2 T. minced onion
- 1 t. seasoned salt
- 2 t. freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 T. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 t. paprika
- 2 t. prepared yellow mustard
- 2 T. brown sugar
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1 T. A-1 steak sauce
- diced green pepper, optional
- cheese slices, optional
- pickle slices, optional
- leafy lettuce, optional
- toasted buns
Instructions

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef on medium-high heat. Crumble the beef as it cooks; then drain the excess fat.

Place cooked, crumbled and drained ground beef into the Crockpot.

In a large mixing bowl, combine remaining ingredients; stir well.

Pour the sauce mixture over the cooked beef and stir well.

Place lid on Crockpot and cook on LOW 4-5 hours, stirring occasionally. If desired, add diced green pepper last 30 minutes of cooking.

Serve on toasted buns with cheese slices, lettuce and pickles, as desired.
