Welcome Back for another SIMPLE Crockpot Recipe. I hope you are enjoying this series! Today, we are all about APPLE BUTTER! If you have never made Apple Butter, I hope you will give this recipe a try…it is Wonderful and Easy!
Apple Butter
Ingredients
- 2 3-lb bags of gala apples, or your choice of apples
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 t. ground cinnamon
- 1 t. ground nutmeg
- 1 lemon
Instructions

You will need a large 6-quart Crockpot for this recipe…and preferably an oval-shaped for even heating.

Wash, peel and slice apples into the Crockpot. Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon over the apples, being careful to remove any seeds, and gently toss.

Pour sugars, cinnamon and nutmeg over apples; toss gently to combine ingredients.

Place lid on Crockpot and cook on LOW for 5-6 hours, stirring 2 -3 times.

When apples are cooked and soft, smash with a potato masher or an immersion blender for your desired consistency.

Store in refrigerator, or freezer. You may also place in small jelly jars and process in a hot water bath to can/preserve.
