Welcome, Friends!….and Merry Christmas! I just wanted to pop in with a quick, SIMPLE tip for you today. While you are out and about finishing up your Holiday shopping, don’t forget to pick a few decorative gift boxes.
I began “collecting” these gift boxes several years ago. At first, my main intention was to just use them to give presents in to family and friends….but that didn’t work out. The more I looked at the vintage-type boxes and their sweet designs, I decided to keep them for myself.
Of course, they are great to use for giving gifts, but also consider other ways to use them
- use decorative gift boxes to style around your Christmas tree(s) before placing your actual gifts…or in place of your gifts (keeps the “sneaky” ones from trying to open or guess their gifts)
- decorative gift boxes are great for filling in decorative areas such as bookcases, mantels, countertops, etc, where a little extra cheer is needed
- decorative gift boxes are great to use for gifts given within your home/immediate family…use the boxes from year-to-year to save on wrapping supplies
- decorative boxes are great to use to give gifts to others who love Christmas decor
- after the Holidays, stack your boxes within each other and use for storing delicate Christmas items such as vintage ornaments, tree skirts, angel or tree toppers, etc
My favorite place to purchase these boxes are TJ Maxx, HomeGoods and Hobby Lobby. Keep your eyes open when visiting these stores, and other similar shops, and pick up a few boxes to start your collection! WARNING: it’s addicting!
Here are a few pictures of my little “collection”
Happy Gift-giving….
